Las tecnologías generativas basadas en Inteligencia Artificial, como ChatGPT, están
revolucionando la forma en que vivimos, trabajamos y consumimos contenidos y productos,
y la educación no es una excepción. Por su capacidad para generar textos coherentes en
segundos varias instituciones educativas alrededor del mundo han prohibido su uso. En
otros ámbitos, en cambio, se estimula su incorporación como un modo de abrir el horizonte
de creación por parte de docentes y estudiantes (Atlas, 2023; Sabzalieva y Valentini, 2023).
¿Cómo saber si un estudiante realmente aprendió a partir de una pieza escrita cuando es
tan difícil saber si la escribió de manera autónoma y sin otro apoyo que sus conocimientos
sobre el tema? ¿Cuán importante resulta conocer estas herramientas de IA para generación
textual más allá de si las usaremos o no en el aula y en nuestra vida cotidiana? ¿Cómo
abordar su uso responsable y crítico? En las páginas que siguen intentaremos pensar
posibles modos en que estas tecnologías pueden incorporarse en las propuestas de
enseñanza en el nivel secundario y superior.
How to address artificial intelligence in the classroom
Artificial Intelligence (AI) based generative technologies, such as ChatGPT, are
revolutionising how we live, work and consume content and products, and education is not
an exception. Several educational institutions worldwide have banned their use because of
their ability to generate coherent text in seconds. In other areas, their incorporation is
encouraged as a way of opening up the creative horizons of both teachers and students
(Atlas, 2023; Sabzalieva and Valentini, 2023). Is it possible to know if a student really learned
from writing a reflective piece when it is so difficult to know if they wrote it autonomously
and with no other support than their knowledge of the subject? How important is it to know
these AI tools for textual generation beyond whether or not we will use them in the
classroom and our daily lives? How can we approach their responsible and critical use in the
classroom? In the following pages, we will think of possible ways in which these
technologies can be incorporated into teaching proposals at secondary and higher
education levels.
